Athletes of the Week - 09/20/2004
Lee Catchpole (Norwich, England/Bungay)
of the men's soccer team scored the game-winning goal
on an overtime penalty shot to defeat Rider, 3-2, on Friday and added two goals in Sunday's 4-2 win at St.
Francis (PA), helping the Bulls to remain undefeated on the season. The goals by the freshman were the first of
his career. Catchpole is tied for the team lead with eight points (three goals, two assists) this season.
Jenny Koeppel (Amherst,
NY/Amherst) of the women's cross country team won her second
consecutive individual title with her victory at Toledo's Central Collegiate Invitational. Koeppel sliced more than 30
seconds off her winning time from the previous week to complete the Toledo 5K course in 17:49, besting
Akron's Morgan Sulzener by seven seconds. Koeppel's victory enabled the Bulls to win the team title, beating
seven MAC schools in the 11-team field.
