Athletes of the Week - 09/18/2006
Daniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame) of the men's soccer team scored three shutouts and lowered his Mid-American Conference goals against average to 0.40 as the Bulls scored victories over Cornell, St. Bonaventure and Canisius. Bell made 12 saves in the three contests. This season, he is 5-1-1 with four shutouts as the Bulls have not allowed a goal in the last 313 minutes of action.
Caitlin Higgins (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) of the women's soccer team scored two goals in UB's 3-2 victory over rival Canisius on Friday night. Higgins scored a goal in each half for the first two goals of her career. A midfielder, she tallied an assist earlier in the season and leads the Bulls with 10 shots. She is also second on the team with five points in the 2006 campaign.
