Athletes of the Week - 09/13/2004

Mike Rockman (Toronto, Ontario/Thornhill) of the men's tennis team had a perfect 6-0 record at the season-opening Buffalo/Bonaventure Fall Classic. Rockman, a sophomore, scored three singles victories against opponents from Niagara, Youngstown State and St. Bonaventure and also combined with Josh Liederman (Queens Village, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) for three doubles victories.

 

Jenny Dannecker (East Amherst, NY/Holy Angels Academy) of the women's soccer team scored the game-winning goal in the 16th minute and added an assist on UB's other goal in the Bulls' 2-0 victory over Mid-American Conference rival Akron on Sunday. Dannecker, a senior, has two goals this season and has scored eight goals in her career. Dannecker is currently tied for the team lead with five points (two goals, one assist) this season.
