Athletes of the Week - 09/06/2005

Photo of Lee CatchpoleLee Catchpole (Norwich, England/Bungay) of the men's soccer team earned Offensive Most Valuable Player honors and was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Bulls Fall Classic. Catchpole scored a goal and an assist in both of UB's victories in the tournament, 3-2 over Valparaiso and 5-0 against Cleveland State. The leading scorer last season, the sophomore forward leads the team with six points after UB's two matches this season.

 

Photo of Katie WeekleyKatie Weekley (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) of the women's volleyball team was named to the All-Tournament Team at the WNY Invitational after averaging 2.91 kills and 1.36 blocks per game to lead the Bulls to an undefeated 3-0 record at the tournament. She also hit a team-leading .377 in the Bulls' three matches and had 15 kills and a match-high seven blocks to lead the Bulls to a dramatic 3-2 win over Army. For the season, the senior is averaging 2.61 kills and 1.33 blocks per game with a .299 hitting percentage.
