Athletes of the Week - 09/06/1998
Sophomore forward Steve Butcher (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) helped the men's soccer team to a 3-0 record this past week starting on Tuesday (9/1) as he scored the game-winning goal in overtime to defeat the Spartans of Michigan State in double overtime. Butcher also scored two goals vs. Western Kentucky to win the championship game of the VMI Tournament, 4-1.
Women's soccer forward sophomore Paula Listrani (Rochester, NY/Greece
-Athena) scored three goals in two games to help the Bulls to a 2-0
record this past week. Listrani scored two goals in the Bulls season opener at
Niagara in a 4-0 victory and one goal in their home opening win vs. Bucknell,
3-1.
