ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Athletes of the Week - 05/23/2005

Photo of Chris McGraw Chris McGraw (Summerville, SC/Stratford/Coffeyville CC) of the baseball team rose to the occasion on Sunday, pitching in the final game of his career on Senior Day and coming out on the winning side of a 1-0 pitchers' duel with Marshall. He allowed seven hits and two walks but stranded eight runners, including three on third in the game. While tossing a career-high 142 pitches, McGraw struck out a career-high 12 batters for his first career complete-game shutout.

Photo of Stacey Evans Stacey Evans (Collinsville, IL/Triad) was named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Softball Team for the third straight year as announced last week by the league office. Evans completed her four-year career with 42 wins, 22 shutouts, 536 strikeouts and a 1.94 earned run average. She finished the 2005 season with 12 wins, five shutouts, two saves, 120 strikeouts and a 2.20 ERA. Evans allowed just one earned run in 17.1 innings pitched for a 0.52 ERA in three appearances at the 2005 MAC Tournament, the Bulls' first-ever postseason appearance in their Division I history.
