Athletes of the Week - 05/15/2000
Adam Smith (Varysburg, NY/Attica) of the men's track and field team tied for seventh in the discus throw at the Kent Open. Smith set a school record with his toss of 163-2 (49.74m), breaking his previous school record of 159-9 set at the Cornell Invitational earlier this season.
Sarah Fletcher (Crystal Beach, ONT/Crystal Beach-Ridgeway) of
the women's track and field team finished third in the hammer throw at the Kent
Open. Fletcher's top mark for the event was 174-2 (53.08m).
