Kevin Nesteruk (Cheektowaga, NY/West Seneca East) of the baseball team hit the first two home runs of his four-year career, knocking in six runs for the week. Nesteruk had the game-winning blast in the ninth inning of UB's 6-5 win at Central Michigan on Sunday to cap off the week. He also had a two-run homer in the 10th inning at Niagara. In league play, Nesteruk is second on the team with a .361 batting average and is third on the squad in overall hitting at .283. He is also third on the Bulls with eight doubles this season.

 

Photo of Varsity four crew The varsity four crew team placed third in its race at the Metro Cup to lead the Bulls to an overall third-place finish. The entry, consisting of bow seat Mary Conniff (Camden, NY/Camden), second seat Lauren Dunn (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East), third seat Michelle Schwach (Buffalo, NY/Nardin Academy), stroke seat Sara Sheffer (Ft. Edward, NY/Colonie) and coxswain Katie Johnson (Kenmore, NY/Holy Angels), finished the 2,000-meter course in 8:11.7 to finish about a boat-length behind first-place Delaware.
