ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Bryan Sanchez (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) of the baseball team went 4-for-8 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBIs in UB's doubleheader at Northern Illinois. Sanchez belted his seventh homer of the season and added an RBI double in Sunday's opener. For the weekend, the junior third baseman went 5-for-11. He leads the Bulls with 34 runs driven in.

UB's Novice Eight crew team placed fifth in the finals of the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, one of the oldest rowing competitions in the country. The team turned in a time of 7:15.0, just 14 seconds out of first place. The squad consisted of coxswain Randi Prusak (Attica, NY/Attica), stroke seat Lavoya Reddish (Queens, NY/Hillcrest), seventh seat Kasey Hansen (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima), sixth seat Deanna Knighton (Angola, NY/Lake Shore), fifth seat Michelle Schwach (Buffalo, NY/Nardin Academy), fourth seat Amy Aldridge (Penfield, NY/Penfield), third seat Melissa Ward (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), second seat Jessica Roman (Spencer, NY/Spencer-Van Etten) and bow seat Sara Sullivan (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East).
