Athletes of the Week - 04/29/2002

Brandon DiCesare (Rochester, NY/McQuaid Jesuit) of the baseball team hit .478 (11-for-23) in five games for the week as the Bulls went 2-3. DiCesare, a junior catcher, also added seven runs scored and nine runs batted in while hitting his first two home runs in UB's weekend series at Ohio. He also rapped three doubles, two against Canisius in UB's 13-5 victory. For the season, he leads the team with a .375 batting average and 30 RBIs.

 

Photo of Ann Magur Ann Magur (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) of the softball team led the Bulls with a .480 (12-for-25) batting average during the week and had an .880 slugging percentage (two doubles, one triple, two home runs). She drove in a team-high nine RBIs in seven games and went 4-for-4 with four RBIs in the nightcap, driving in the winning runs with a two-run triple, in UB's victory at Bowling Green on Saturday for a doubleheader sweep. She also added back-to-back home runs in her final at-bat against Canisius, a two-run shot in the seventh inning, and in her first at-bat against Niagara, a two-run shot in the first inning, and is now batting .337 for the year.
