ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Joe Clark (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) of the men's track and field team was named the Most Valuable Athlete at the SUNY Centers Championships in Binghamton. Clark won two individual events, the 200 meters (21.85) and 400 meters (47.76). He also anchored both of UB's winning relay squads with the 4x100 team setting a school-record time of 41.53 and the 4x400 squad winning in 3:16.56. The Bulls won the team title with 216 points.

Biaunca McFarland (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) of the women's track and field team also was named as the Most Valuable Athlete at the SUNY Centers Championships. McFarland returned to her hometown to capture two individual first-place victories and a relay crown, winning the 200 meters in a personal-best 25.46 and the triple jump at 39-8 (12.11m), her best performance of the season. She also anchored the Bulls' winning 4x400 relay squad to a 3:53.50 finish. UB won the team title with 247 points.
