ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Jesse Reinstein (Thornhill, Ontario/Westmount Collegiate) of the baseball team pitched 5.1 innings, allowing no runs with eight strikeouts and three hits in two appearances. He got a start against St. Bonaventure, going three innings, allowing two hits, in a no-decision. Against Ball State, Reinstein threw 2.1 innings of relief allowing one hit, while striking out a pair. The freshman leads the Bulls in appearances this season with 10.

The Varsity Eight crew placed third in the finals of the San Diego Crew Classic behind a pair of California boats finishing in 6:51.28, less than four seconds behind the winning boat. The team consisted of Sher Briggs (St. Catharines, Ontario/West Park), Melina DiCosimo (Niagara Falls, Ontario/St. Paul), Tara Rudkowski (Merrick, NY/Calhoun), Bridget Yannes (Edgewater Park, NJ/Holy Cross), Alana Sharpe (St. Catharines, Ontario/Governor Simcoe), Brittany Aiello (Lancaster, NY/Clarence), Lauren Sexton (Niagara Falls, Ontario/St. Paul), Cathleen Streicher (West Seneca, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) and Maggie Fairgrieve (Fort Erie, Ontario/Lake Shore Catholic). A total of 21 boats competed in the race.
