Athletes of the Week - 03/19/2007
Ezekiel Porter (Rochester, NY/East) of the track and field team won two events in helping the Bulls to a second-place finish at the season-opening Seahawk Invitational in Wilmington, NC. Porter won the 100 in 10.84 seconds and captured the 200 in 22.08 seconds, besting second-place finisher John Carr of North Carolina-Wilmington in both races.
Natalie Dean (Feilding, New Zealand/Palmerston North) of the women's tennis team was undefeated as the Bulls won both their matches in Florida on the spring break trip. Dean went 2-0 in doubles play paired with Miglena Nenova (Rousse, Bulgaria/Eurointellect) at number two. She also picked up a three-set victory over Alba Passanisi of Hillsborough CC in UB's 5-2 win over the NJCAA national runners-up from last season.
