Athletes of the Week - 03/15/2004

Yassin Idbihi (Tangier, Morocco/Schloss Hagerhof) of the men's basketball team averaged 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in UB's two Mid-American Conference Tournament games. Idbihi scored a career-high 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds in UB's 90-73 win over Northern Illinois, giving the Bulls their first trip to Cleveland for the MAC Quarterfinals. He was also selected to the MAC's All-Freshman team last week.

 

Ashlee Burton (Franklin, IN/Franklin Community) of the women's swimming and diving team placed second in the platform competition at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in Annapolis, MD. Burton scored 355.45 points to finish behind Northeastern's Adela Gavodzea for the only available spot in the NCAA Championship field. The sophomore also finished 13th on the three-meter springboard with 397.85 points.
