Athletes of the Week - 03/12/2001

Budi Susanto (Bali, Indonesia/Hilton Head Prep) and Fery Kasiman (Jakarta, Indonesia/Hilton Head Prep) of the men's tennis team combined to notch an 8-6 doubles win over a duo from St. Joseph's, helping the Bulls to a 7-0 win over the Hawks. Individually, Susanto, at first singles, defeated Shawn Farrukh, 6-4, 6-0, while Kasiman downed Mark Spryzynski, 6-0, 6-3, at second singles. The pair has been instrumental in leading the Bulls to their best start in history with an undefeated 10-0 mark as the team heads into Mid-American Conference competition.

Faith Thompson (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) of the women's track and field team broke a 16-year old record in her first collegiate outdoor meet to win the shot put competition at the Seahawk Invitational in Wilmington, NC. Thompson's winning toss of 41-10 broke Joyce Kenneson's 1985 mark of 40-10.50. The Bulls finished second in the three-team meet.
