Cooper, who now has 112 career wins, defeated Ohio's Ed Willis by a 5-2 score in the final match to claim the title. The Bulls finished fifth in the team standings at the meet.

With the win, the Bulls advanced to Cleveland's Gund Arena for the first time since 2000 to play in the second round.
