ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Mark Budd (Orrville, OH/Orrville) of the wrestling team won his second consecutive Mid-American Conference title and a spot in the upcoming NCAA Championships in the 133-pound weight class. Budd went 3-0 in his weekend bouts, scoring a 3-2 victory over Kent State's Danny Mitcheff in the finals, and picking up All-MAC honors. Budd leads the country with 35 wins in his weight class.

Meili Carpenter (Boulder, CO/Fairview) of the women's swimming and diving team placed fourth among 33 divers in the one-meter event and third among five individuals in the platform competition at the NCAA Zone A Championships in Piscataway, NJ. Carpenter, an All-MAC Second Team honoree, scored 505.20 points on the one-meter board to place fourth.She also tallied 445.20 points in the platform event.
