ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Mark Budd (Orrville, OH/Orrville) of the wrestling team earned his 100th career win as he scored a 20-5 technical fall over Binghamton's Rob Slavin in UB's 22-18 win over the Bearcats. Budd joins three other UB wrestlers, Kyle Cerminara, Gary Cooper and Josh States, as the only grapplers in school history to reach the 100-victory plateau. Budd, ranked 15th at 133 pounds, is 32-4 with a dual-meet mark of 15-0.

Kahla Walkinshaw (Hamilton, Ontario/Westmount SS) of the women's swimming and diving team set a pair of season-best times as she reached the finals of the 100- and 200-yard butterflies at the MAC Championships. Walkinshaw finished fourth in the 200-yard race (2:05.82) and fifth in the 100-yard race (57.24). She also was part of the 400-yard medley relay team that finished sixth at the meet with a season-best time of 3:54.92.
