Athletes of the Week - 02/16/2004
 Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St.
Francis) of the men's tennis team went 3-0 in singles play and 2-1
in doubles at the Bonnie Duals. Zieziula, at second singles, needed a tiebreaker to defeat Binghamton's
Erez Cohen and then went on to defeat Binghamton's Richemn Mourad and St. Bonaventure's Nikhil Murali
in straight sets. For the season, the junior is 19-6 in singles play.
Laura Olson (Lyons,
NY/Lyons) of the women's indoor track and field team again broke her own
school record in the pole vault and solidified her NCAA Provisional qualifying standard with her performance at
the Armory Collegiate Meet. Olson won the event with a height of 13-4.25 (4.07m), bettering her previous best
by four inches and eclipsing her own meet record by nearly a foot. Olson ranks second in the MAC behind
Akron's Kira Sims and among the top vaulters nationally.
