Athletes of the Week - 02/12/2001

Labe Black (Ventnor, NJ/Absegami) of the wrestling team earned victories over Slippery Rock and Central Michigan in leading the Bulls to a two-match split. The freshman defeated Slippery Rock's Anthony Errera 13-4 and shut out Central Michigan's Derek Phillips, 6-0. Black is now 15-9 overall and 3-1 in Mid-American Conference bouts.

Carrie Quinlan (Amherst, NY/North Tonawanda) of the women's swim team won two individual events and swam the first leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay to help the Bulls defeat Cornell 154-144. The junior won the 100 butterfly in a season-best 57.55 and took the 50 freestyle in 24.81. Her 100 butterfly time is the third fastest in the Mid-American Conference.
