Athletes of the Week - 02/11/2002
Kyle Cerminara (Lewiston,
NY/Lewiston-Porter) of the wrestling team improved to a perfect 4-0
in Mid-American Conference matches with his 8-3 decision over Central Michigan's Bill Stouffer on
Saturday. Cerminara, at 197 pounds, used three takedowns, one escape and a riding time point to earn the win.
The freshman also moved his overall mark to 18-10 and is 6-5 in dual meet competitions.
Tracy Hoover (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville
North) of the women's swimming and diving team
set a school record in the one-meter diving competition of Friday night's home finale against Cornell. Hoover,
a freshman, totaled 275.20 points in six dives to break Janet Ward's 11-year old record of 272.50 points.
Hoover also won the three-meter competition with a total score of 288.70.
