Athletes of the Week - 02/03/2003
Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East)
of the men's tennis team went 3-0 at the
St. Bonaventure Duals to lead the Bulls to a 2-1 record over the weekend. Rocchio did not lose a set during
the tournament as he won two matches at number three and one at number five, a 6-0, 6-0 victory over
Binghamton's Jordan Steinberg.
Jenelle Callender (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn
Tech) of the women's track and field team set two
school records at the Penn State National Open on Saturday. Against some of the top teams on the East Coast,
Callender, a senior sprint specialist, set the school mark in the 60-meter dash in 7.75 seconds. She then established a
new mark in the 400-meters with a 56.83 clocking, shaving nearly a half-second off the old mark.
