Athletes of the Week - 01/31/2000

Junior Nikolai Alexeev (Minsk, Belarus) of the men's basketball team led the way as the Bulls went 2-1 this week and to a third straight home win. He was the Bull's top scorer in a 84-83 upset over Akron with 18 points, scored 10 points in a win over Western Michigan, and scored a game-high 21 points in a loss at Ball State.

Senior Udo Okeke (Seattle, WA/Lagos) of the women's indoor track and field team set a new UB record in the 600 meters (1:33.5) at an indoor track meet at Western Ontario last weekend. Her 600 meter time also qualified her for the MAC Championships.
