Athletes of the Week - 01/23/2006
Calvin Cage (Capitol Heights, MD/Bladensburg)
of the men's basketball team averaged 23 points
in two games and scored his 1,000th career point. Against Ball State, the senior guard scored 21 points with
six rebounds and four assists in leading the Bulls to the comeback win. Cage netted 25 points on 9-of-18
shooting against Central Michigan. He is now 12th on UB's all-time scoring chart with 1,031 career points.
Brooke Meunier (Saginaw,
MI/Heritage) of the women's basketball team averaged 19 points in
two games. The senior guard scored a team-high 20 points as the Bulls defeated Akron for their fifth road win of
the season and then came back with an 18-point effort in UB's loss to Kent State. Meunier also recorded a
game-high six assists against the Golden Flashes.
