Smiley (Erie, PA/McDowell)
of the men's basketball team averaged 17.5 points off the bench in
UB’s two victories on the week. He made the game-winning
three-pointer in UB’s 68-65 win at Bowling Green as he
finished with 14 points. Against Akron on Sunday, he scored 21 points
on 8-of-9 shooting, including 4-of-4 from three-point range. He also
added a career-high five steals against the Zips. The senior guard is
third on the team with a 7.9 points per game average.
Jamiee
McClary (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy)
of the women's track and field team broke her week-old record in the
200-meters with a first-place showing of 24.59 at the Doug Raymond
Invitational. The freshman cut .16 off her January 8 mark and is now
more than four-tenths of a second off the record from the start of the
season. McClary also finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in a
career-best 8.86 and ran the opening leg of the 4x400-meter relay
helping the Bulls lower their top time.
