ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Dana Gingerich (Spring Grove, PA/DeLone Catholic) of the wrestling team scored two pins in his three matches at the Virginia Duals in Hampton, VA. Gingerich, at 141 pounds, posted his first pin against Cal State-Bakersfield's Matt Shumm with 15 seconds left in the bout and followed with a pin against two-time Division II All-American Lucas Christianson of North Dakota State 58 seconds into the match. The freshman leads the team with five pins this season.

Faith Thompson (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) of the women's track and field team won the weight throw and finished fourth in the shot put at the season-opening Black Squirrel Invitational at Kent State. Thompson, coming off a redshirt season, won the weight throw with a toss of 59-2 (18.03m), winning by nearly a foot. She also threw the shot 44-8.75 (13.63m) and earned ECAC qualifying marks in both events.
