Athletes of the Week - 01/16/2001
Ryan Bentley (Ripley, NY/Ripley) of the wrestling team was 2-0 at 141 pounds at the Virginia Duals. Bentley defeated opponents from Pennsylvania, ranked as high as 18th in the Intermat poll, and West Virginia in the Bulls' two matches. Bentley for the season is 10-1 in dual meet competition and 21-3, tied for the most overall wins this season.
Jessica Kochendorfer (Allen, MI/Quincy) of the women's basketball
team set career highs with 16 points and 10 rebounds vs. Kent State and recorded
her first double-double. She followed that with 15 points and five rebounds at
Ohio. In the Bulls' last four contests, all Mid-American Conference games, the
freshman forward is averaging 11.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest.
