Athletes of the Week - 01/13/2003
 Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis)
of the men's tennis team posted a 1-1 singles mark
and teamed with Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville
East) to reach the quarterfinals of the
Milwaukee Tennis Classic for the second consecutive year. The doubles duo went 2-1 in the tournament, including
a second-round win over the sixth-seeded team from Ohio State. Zieziula also defeated Michigan's Vinny
Gossain, 6-3, 7-6, in the singles competition.
Erin Lawrenson (Elkland, PA/Elkland
Area) of the women's basketball team scored a career-high
20 points, on 6-of-10 shooting, with four three-pointers against Marshall. Lawrenson drained a three-pointer
with 28.3 seconds left to send the game into overtime, the second time this season that she's scored a three-pointer
to force overtime. She followed that performance with a career-best 10 rebounds against Ball State in her first
start of the season on Saturday. For the year, the sophomore leads the Bulls with 13 three-pointers and is second
in free throw percentage at 82.6.
