Athletes of the Week - 01/11/1999
Sophomore Nikolai Alexeev (Minsk, Belarus/Belarus Sports Academy) was the UB men's basketball team's top scorer in both its games this week. Alexeev had a career-high 18 points as well as nine rebounds against Bowling Green (62-59) and 14 points and five rebounds against Miami (OH).
Sophomore Tiffany Bell (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) scored 16
second-half points (22 total-points and ten rebounds) to lead the women's
basketball team to victory against Mid-American Conference opponent Akron,
68-60.
