Athletes of the Week - 01/10/2005
Turner Battle (Kernersville, NC/East
Forsyth) of the men's basketball team averaged 16.5 points,
3.5 rebounds and 8.0 assists to lead the Bulls to wins over Central Michigan and Toledo. The senior point
guard scored a season-high 22 points and dished out a career-high nine assists in the Bulls' 83-67 win over the Chippewas.
He added 11 points and seven assists in the Bulls' win over Toledo. The victory over Central Michigan was
the Bulls' first on the Chippewas' home floor, and the win over Toledo was UB's first-ever against the Rockets.
Stephanie Bennett (Springfield, OH/Kenton
Ridge) of the women's basketball team led the Bulls
with a season- and career-high 13 points, including 11 in the first half, in UB's Mid-American Conference
opener against Bowling Green. She also added four rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes. She is second on the
team with 12 three-pointers this season and tied for second with 31 assists in her freshman campaign.
